Description Alvin HEAT BLOCK is an insulation compound with unique heat absorbing properties which insulate against heat transfer during welding, soldering, brazing or other heat treatment. The heat absorption properties protect closely soldered parts, valve casketing, thin gauge metal, and other materials which could be damaged during repair or installation work. HEAT BLOCK is used to protect plastic drain pipes in close proximity to metal pipes being replaced or soldered. HEAT BLOCK prevents distortion to light gauge metals, protects rubber and plastic components, and painted or finished surfaces while soldering, brazing or welding.

Free Shipping: All orders in the US over $100 are given the option of free shipping! Excluding Hawaii & Alaska. On orders under 150 lbs. we will find a Common Carrier or Freight Truck to ship to you. If your order exceeds 150 lbs. free shipping is the only option we offer, we will choose a Freight Truck or Drop Ship Method based on availability.
UPS Shipping: We offer UPS shipping available to all orders under 150 lbs. The default method in the contiguous United States is standard UPS® Ground.
You may choose to upgrade through the following methods:

UPS Restrictions: Any item greater than 150 lbs. or exceeding the UPS maximum package size total constraints of 130 inches (length + girth, where girth is 2 x width plus 2 x height) cannot be shipped via UPS. UPS also requires an actual street address location. UPS does not offer service to Post Office Boxes or APO/FPO Military Mail addresses.
USPS Shipping: We offer USPS Priority Mail shipping available to all orders under 15 lbs. As mentioned above, UPS does not offer service to Post Office Boxes or APO/FPO Military Mail addresses. In these cases we will ship your order through the United States Postal Service delivery system. (Parcel Post)
